Our main vision at Eko is to have a positive impact on the world by doing good at as many stages of the process as possible. For us, we want to impact not only the lives of those involved in our designing, manufacturing, and production of our products, we also want the ripple to keep on going further. That’s why we have partnered with Flourish NI as we love the work they have been doing to support those affected by human trafficking.
Flourish NI provide long-term tailored support for those directly affected by human trafficking, helping those overcome trauma and rebuild lives. Yes, being rescued from human trafficking is an important moment, but it is the aftercare that is often neglected, so that is what Flourish NI focus on- helping survivors to rebuild their lives by providing physical and psychological support.
Key areas of support given by Flourish NI:
Independence: Flourish NI offer support in finding employment and education for those coming out of human trafficking, helping them to re-gain their independence.
Well-being: Making sure that they are getting the right medical attention required.
Professional: Aid is given to those maybe struggling with employment, immigration or other legal issues.
Finances: Advice is provided on budgeting, and generating an income, or help in simply setting up a bank account.
Community: Flourish NI also helps with social integration of human trafficking survivors, helping them form a community, reuniting with family and forming healthy relationships.
Looking to the future: They help those to set goals for the future and to restore hope in their lives, teaching that they can regain their confidence.
